bullshit tv violence study

posted 03/28/2002 02:42:00 by matt flesch-kincaid: 73, grade level: 7 commentscomments(0) linklink
this study claims that watching an hour of tv a day makes you 4 times as likely to be violent. so that means that out of all the people you know who obviously watch too much tv (eric, wilfred, joe, myself; i'm looking at you) a bunch should be very violent. oh wait we aren't though. the best part is this, "Parents should try not to let children watch more than one hour a day on the average.", forget that crap that's only like 2 of 3 simpsons repeats that are on every day... guess tv no effect me no at all.

an opinion article in harvard's paper complains about the fact that a harvard professor has strong ties to cuba. personally i wouldn't care if castro himself swam over and started teaching somewhere, but this article does have some good overdramatic quotes such as, "...Cuba's nasty and oppressive regime seems sad and bullied and even a little bit cute the 'Tickle-Me-Elmo'ť of totalitarian states." so if you're looking for some conservative drivel to cheer you up, then head over and read it.

Stupid Woman (as if theres another kind. :P) looks to sue Nintendo because her 30 year old son died from what seems to be an epileptic seizure. What the hell is this woman thinking? Her son had repeated seizures, and when one finally made him hit his head and die now she decides its worth suing. Thats touching. Maybe she should have read the warnings and torn the f-ing controller away from her son instead of waiting to waste her own, as well as nintendo's and the State of Louisiana's money on a trial. I'm sure the state could put its money to better uses - like teaching people how to read. And I want to see the new Zelda game within the next 10 years please. Arg i hate stupid people.
